Here are mine (you fellow band geek and our track coach wanted me to run track too, but I didn't want to):

1. Tent camping outdoors during the blizzard of 1978. Yep it was cold, but we did it.
2. Getting excused from class to "work" on the yearbook. If only our dear, sweet yearbook advisor knew what we really did in the yearbook room sometimes. Yeah the yearbook got done, just not when we were cutting class to work on it.
3. Touring with the All State Band every summer - a lot of work, but what a blast! And I met a lot of interesting kids from other high schools around the state.
4. Going to music camp during the summer - what better way for a music lover to spend two weeks during the summer, except for All State tour.
5. Coming out of class to find that my locker door had been smashed in while I was diligently studying away (cough). We never proved it, but I think it was smashed by a couple of boys who had a beef with my dad over a snowmobile race where he caught them cheating and had them disqualified. That's not a good memory, but it's a memory.
6. Writing my final research paper for my Research Writing class. It was a labor of love (and a lotta work!), but I still have that paper today.
7. End of the year Senior picnic. The school said we had to have parent chaperones, but, hey, if you pick the right ones, it's like having no chaperones at all (no, not my idea). It was one of the few times during my
entire high school career that everyone in my class got along.
8. Getting lost in the high school on my first day of ninth grade. Yea, dummy the high school is shaped like a box, just keep walking and you'll pass the class room multiple times. You gotta notice it sooner or later. It was amazing when I graduated four years later, how much smaller the high school seemed.
9. Playing on our high school's first girls softball team my senior year. We were, hands down, the worst team in the league, but oh well. Gotta start somewhere, and it gave me something to do after school when I wasn't working on the yearbook or going to band practice.
10. GRADUATION! Anxious to move forward, but a bit afraid. Wanting to meet new people but wanting to hang onto friends I'd known throughout high school. Wanting to change, but wanting to stay the same too.
