Bruce Lee Ben

Bruce Lee Ben, originally uploaded by Yano.

OK, so I’ve been watching the Olympics, but I’ve had a cold so I spend most of my time lately coughing, blowing my nose and feeling sorry for myself. :-P Anyway, just wanted to share a recent pic of Ben - a couple months ago his hair started getting long and we started hearing a lot of “he looks like a young bruce lee” comments, so I asked him to do his best karate moves. What a ham!

Fun Times in California So Far

Cutting the Cake, originally uploaded by Yano.

Just wanted to check in and let you know that we’re having an awesome time in California. Yesterday was Vinnie and Eileen’s wedding, which was in a great location and we had an AWESOME time.

Tomorrow we head out to San Diego to visit my dad, step mom and step brothers, one of which I’ll be meeting for the first time. Should be fun!

I’ve got a TON of pictures, but no time to really work on them, so hopefully I’ll have a chance to do it tomorrow night…

Spooky Ben

Spooky Ben, originally uploaded by Yano.

We were at the Glendale Heights Summerfest waiting for fireworks to start. I brought a flashlight so Ben had something to play with. Taught him how to make spooky faces.

Waiting for Spring

Trying to Bloom, originally uploaded by Yano.

We had a couple of inches of snow yesterday - IN APRIL! I’m so tired for snow, spring is taking FOREVER to come this year.

I’ve got pics of easter egg hunting madness from last weekend, I’ll post them up soon.

My Favorite Picture

Hollywood Studios (80/365), originally uploaded by Yano.

This is my favorite non-Ben picture from our Orlando trip (I know, you’re thinking, “Jeez, you’re still talking about your Orlando trip? Hell yeah, for I will be for a while!)

Got this picture right as the sun was going down…I love the color of the sky, and that it was dark enough to see the lighting under the hat.

Off to the store to buy some salmon for tomorrow, and maybe make some sushi rolls…

Eye Surgery Tomorrow

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Dilated Eye (85/365), originally uploaded by Yano.

Tomorrow I’m getting some eye surgery done…not as detailed as the one I had in 2004. This one is just some laser surgery to take care of some weaknesses in my retina. Since I’ve already had a detached retina, it’s suggested that I have surgery to take care of any weaknesses, just in case.

So I’m gonna get up at the buttcrack of dawn to drive over to my dad’s place, who’s going to drive me to my eye doctor, have my surgery, and then going back to work. It’s not going to be the 2 week drugged up recovery I had last time!

I’ve actually had this on my “to do” list for the last couple years, but decided to do it this week since we’re going to Whistler next week for some snowboarding, and I don’t want to knock out my retina with a bad fall…

Wish me luck!

Still Having Fun

Hawaiian Mickey, originally uploaded by Yano.

Just a quick post - still having a great time, despite the temps being in the 40’s during the day. Luckily we’re from Chicago - unfortunately, most of our winter stuff is still at home! Anyway, Ben’s met a TON of characters, but his favorite is still Mickey!

It’s MINE!

I love it!

Christmas Card Outtakes

Christmas Card Outtakes, originally uploaded by Yano.

Every year I take Benjamin’s Christmas card photo because I’m too cheap to get something professionally done. Ben knows how to smile on cue, but it’s not the most natural smile - so I tried making him laugh naturally. It took 100 shots for me to get “the” shot, which made for a lot of rejected pictures! Enjoy!

Delicious

Mini-Cheesecakes (11/365), originally uploaded by Yano.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I currently have a new addiction which is taking up a lot of my free time.

Anyway, I never posted pictures of the food I made for Thanksgiving. I didn’t really take too many pictures, so I don’t know if I’ll post the other foods, but I definitely wanted to post this one! Here’s my mini-cheesecakes, some have blueberry toppings, some have cherry. They were absolutely delicious, and I may just make some to keep in my fridge when I need an extra special treat!
