For All You Short Track Freaks Out There

…because I know some of you still read this thing -
Apolo Anton Ohno is going to be on Project Runway tonight in their Olympic themed episode. What he knows about fashion, I have no idea, but hopefully they’re designing skinsuits. There have been way too many skinsuit fashion disasters in the past - the US stars suit and Canada’s “pretend we have no skin so it looks like just muscle” for example…
Three posts today…damn, I don’t know the last time that happened!

Spoiler alert!

I’ll be honest–the judges this week were on crack.
Out of all the people on the show, only one person–count them, ONE–actually followed directions and made what the judges asked for. Nina even admitted it. And everyone else just sort of let the words float over their heads and designed red, white, and blue fashion suits that would not look okay on athletes at all.
And then, who do they pick as the winner? Korto. Her outfit looked okay, but who on earth is going to wear that little ruffle she designed for the top? Not everyone can pull that off. And it was too seventies for me. Michael Kors may have liked it, but I absolutely disapproved.
Maybe next week everyone’ll get off the happy powder and make a decision based on who bothers to follow directions.
I agree - I don’t think many of them realized that the athletes will have to be in these outfits for the whole day. I admit that some countries have had outfits that were very fashion-y, but the US has always shown their American style and athleticism.
I think the guy with the skort got it right, and would have been perfect for the team to wear, even though it was a little long…
I finally caught up on this show last night and totally thought of you when i saw apolo! hehehe.
And you know, also, I wonder sometimes why they pick certain celebrities to come on the show. Like the NYC street “inspiration” challenge with Sara Berndhart? What does she know about fashion?
