Goodbye to a Great One
Posted on June 28th, 2008 by Yano

I don’t have much time to post about it right now, but my favorite comic book artist, Michael Turner, died yesterday night at the young age of 37. It’s really hard for it to sink in - he was so young, so talented, and such a great guy, surrounded by a bunch of great people. Going to the comic book convention won’t be the same today, especially since his booth will be sadly empty.
I’ll write more about my favorite memories of him later…

I was shocked too. I thought he was okay now, I didn’t think he was going to go into remission.
My thoughts are with Aspen and his family.
I just found out about this. He was one of my favorite artists — he will be missed.
That’s horrible
I’m so sorry.
I’m glad that you got to meet him and become a friend of the Aspen Crew. Mike thought that you were really awesome. You, Fatima and of course Ben. Thank you for always being supportive of Mike. You Rock!!
I can honestly say that this has been a very hard time for all of us here. The last couple days for sure. I wish that I could express better how much of an impact he has made on my life, but I just can’t seem to find the proper words. Mike was a great guy and he fought his disease all the way. In the end he was surrounded by the people he loved the most. We should all be that lucky.
I have been very fortunate to know him and to have called him “brother”.
Thanks again Christine, for everything.
Much Aloha,
Sam
