Christmas was, as always, exhausting. Every year it gets a little less and less traditional, with not as many cousins as able to attend and not enough room in one house to fit so many people. This year we didn’t have our tradition midnight mass and post mass gift opening frenzy. Instead we spent Christmas Eve with our respective families (we spent it at Dave’s parents’) and then all got together at Maui’s for Christmas day. The gift opening didn’t start until about 4 that day, and we were all excited to open our gifts. Ben scored a TON of presents - a lot of clothes and some pretty cool toys. I would have to say that his favorite is his Ben-sized Elmo doll from Claudine. He’s been dragging him around since Christmas and has already introduced him to his smaller Elmo counterparts. Next year, I’d like to have Christmas at the house, though I’m still debating on whether or not I’ll go back to the tradition of the midnight gift opening.

Dave got me a pen tablet for Christmas, something I have been wanting for years. Before now it’s been too expensive to buy without really needing it, but luckily Wacom had come out with a more affordable version.
What is a pen tablet, you ask? If some of you are around my age, you may remember the Koala pad, which was used for computers a couple of decades ago. Instead of a mouse, you had a pen and a pressure sensitive pad. This made it a lot easier to draw and maneuver around. Nowadays, computer graphic artists (and many comic book artists) prefer using graphics pen tablets because of that more precise level of control.
I’ve always wanted one, not because I needed it, but because I wanted to play around with it. And now I have one! One day, when I’ve got the time, I’ll draw you all some really amazing stuff. Well, it probably won’t be amazing, but it will be interesting.

I don’t have much time to post, because I really need to get back to playing Wii (by myself because everyone else is still sleeping) but I just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas! May your holidays be filled with the warmth of family and I hope that Santa gets you everything on your list!
We had a nice Christmas Eve night, though this year it’s a little different because we didn’t have the huge mega family frenzy of gift giving and unwrapping. That will take place later today. Just spent it at my in-laws where Fatima, my dad and stepmother came. We ate some great food, took tons of pictures (to be posted later) and played some hilarious rounds of Wii.
Speaking of…I need to get back to it!
