11 Month Mini Party

Last Friday was Ben’s 11 month birthday, and I had missed him so much during my week of crazy travel that I decided to take him out for a little fun. The three of us headed on out to Chuck E Cheese for some pizza and fun. He had a ball, watching all the little kids running around him (he hasn’t gotten the hang of walking yet). He also got to ride on some rides, and although he didn’t seem to have much emotion (as you can see in the pictures), we could tell he was having a ball. After a but he was yelling and dancing on the rides. We munched on pizza and danced along with the animatronic Chucky. We were only there a couple hours, but he had great time and passed out in the car (and for the rest of the night) when we left.

So here’s a couple pics of our little adventure:

Bored in New York?

If you’re in New York City today and have got some time tonight, check out my best friend Jaygee’s show! She’s amazingly talented, and everything she touches turns to gold, so I’m sure that this show is going to be a blast.

Ross in the Wild

Still on the road…though sometime today I’ll be going home and seeing my little baby. I’m pretty exhausted, so he’ll be a sight for sore eyes!

Anyway, here’s a great video to end the week. I love the Crocodile Hunter and and love Ross the Intern from the Tonight Show. Put them together in a video and it’s HILARIOUS!

…and Again

I’m in Northern Wisconsin today, in a little town called Tomahawk, about 4 hours north of Milwaukee.

Luckily, I got into my hotel room early last night - 11pm! So much earlier than the other last two nights. *sarcasm*

Well, at least I’m with a fun group of people. I think all the travel is wearing on us. We’re getting a little slap happy.

Friday cannot come soon enough!

Pooped

Another long day. My flight into Milwaukee got in pretty late since they shut the airport down while we were still in the air. Then I lost my parking ticket, so we had to wait while the lady looked up my license plate number to see when I entered the airport parking lot. Then we got lost going to the hotel. At least we got lost in a really fancy neighborhood, so there was a lot of house eye-candy. Huge mansions along the lake. Got to our hotel at midnight. I am exhausted, but still have so much to do.

*sigh*

This site needs some Ben-Pao!

On the Road Again…and Again…and Again

Yesterday I drove up to Milwaukee because I had a 6am flight to catch with my clients to Kansas City. I’m doing some plant visits with them this week. Their headquarters is in Milwaukee, but they’ve got plants all over the US. So about 7 of us flew into KC, had day-long meeting, went to the airport, then flew to Detroit. From Detroit, we then flew to Harrisburg, PA. Once there, we hopped into a minivan and drove about an hour to our current location. Since we hadn’t really eaten anything, we headed out to an all-night diner. It was about 11:30pm by the time we got to the diner.

By then, we were a little slap happy from all the travel and lack of sleep. I’m with a pretty fun group of people, so it makes the time a lot easier. Tomorrow we go to another plant to have more meetings, then fly back to Milwaukee (after a stopover in Philadephia).

This is the third week in a row that I’ve traveled. This is the third week I’ve been away from my little Benjers. It’s pretty tough, I miss him a lot and I tend to smother him with hugs and kisses when I get home.

By the time this week is over, all 7 of us are going to be a little cuckoo from all the travel! Luckily, the week after that it looks like I’ll be home. Phew!

*yawn*

Stay and Die, or Leave and Lose Sleep?

Last week (which seems like eons ago) I was in Milwaukee. Normally when I’m out of town it’s pretty hard for me to go to sleep. I usually stay up until 1 or 2 in the morning, just working, playing on the internet watching whatever’s on cable. I try to sleep earlier if I know I’ve got an early morning, but it never really works.

So I was in Milwaukee, asleep after yet another late night, and all of the sudden I hear this loud beeping, coming from all over. Then a voice screams into the room, “This is a fire alarm, please exit the building. Do not use the elevators.” Or something like that. Then right after the voice, there’s another voice. “This is the fire chief. There is no fire. Please stay in your rooms.”

It went on and on like that for about 20 minutes. Loud beeping, “exit or die”, “no, it’s not real, just stay!”. I was debating as I was lying in bed, wondering if I should leave, just in case. I heard doors on the floor opening and closing, through I don’t know if anyone left. I looked at the clock and it was 5:30am. A mere half hour before my alarm was going to go off. That helped me make my decision. I was pissed that the alarm went off so soon before I was going to wake up, so I went to back to sleep.

20 minutes later, the beeping again, same message about leaving the building, then another voice says, “There is no fire, stay in your rooms!” I set my alarm to go off 20 minutes later.

Of course, next time I hear an alarm I’ll make sure to leave the building if that “Nah, this isn’t real” voice doesn’t come on. However, this is the fourth time this has happened to me…hope I don’t get used to it and ignore it when it really happens!

Cowabunga, Dude!!!

When I was a kid, I LOVED the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…I even had a pillow! Turns out that they’ve made a CGI version of it, and I admit, it looks awesome!

I’ll definitely rent it when it comes out on video. That is, because I don’t watch movies anymore. Well, I’ll make an exception for “300″, but that’s it!

Back Home!

We came home yesterday night after a long day at the Eagle airport. We were supposed to come home today, but there was some pretty bad weather going through Colorado and we wanted to get out before it got too bad. Since we were on standby tickets, if flights got cancelled then it would be hard for us to get on a plane since passengers would be moved onto later planes.

It was a zoo at Eagle, with people all over the place waiting for their planes, which were in holding patterns above the airport until they got the OK to land. We were on standby for the noon flight, but didn’t end up leaving until four. Luckily, we got on first class.

By the time we got home, Ben was already sleeping. I wanted to wake him up and hug him and squeeze him til he popped. While we were gone he picked up a nasty little cold, so he woke up several times during the night hacking and coughing. This morning he woke up and he was so excited to see us. We spent the morning playing with him in bed, jumping around, laughing and tickling his skinny little belly. I had missed him so much while I was gone! I was away most of last week and for the first part of this week, and I’ll be gone again next week. I’m going to get in as much quality time as I can!

So as much fun as I had during the vacation, I still missed my little booger!
