Money Changes Everything
Just when I was going to complain about work more, I get a call from my manager about my yearly review that just got approved.
Turns out I’m getting a raise.
Enough of a raise that I gasped, “ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!” to my manager after he gave me what I’d be making.
I guess I was a good little girl this year and got some good marks on my review based on all the coworkers I’ve bribed to put in a good word for me should my manager ever ask for their input. That, and I suspect that I was making much lower than the people who are currently doing what I’m doing at X-Inc, so not only did I get a raise, but I got an adjustment on my salary. Which means that its a significan payraise for me.
So for now, I am happy. Tired, overworked, and stressed….but happy nonetheless.
What makes this all better? Tomorrow is a new episode of Lost…which has been pretty kickass over the last several weeks!

Tomorrow I go home and get to hug Benjers! Yay!

Great news, I know you deserve every penny!
Same thing happened to me last year - my boss mentioned to me before my review that I was undercompensated for my level and should get an adjustment. Only he never did anything about it! I had to pester him week after week and finally said, ‘Look, you can go to HR or I will.’
Heh. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing!

It is amazing how below the norm X-Systems was in retrospect! Congrats….if you worked half as hard as you did with me…you definitely deserve the big bucks!!!! Ben (You should call him “All About the Benjamins” for the new raise) looks like a complete riot!!!! Hope all is well!!
Thanks for the comments, everyone. It’s great to know that the company cares how much I make. I also have to give a lot of thanks to my ex-manager, who got the ball rolling with getting my salary up to speed with everyone else’s.
