I’m A Clydesdale!

A couple weeks ago I was on a whirlwind tour of my clients various factory plants all over the US. While there, there were times that we would have to pass the factory floor to get to the meeting rooms. Every site has it’s own safety rules, but most of them required safety eyewear. If you didn’t carry your own, there was a big box of these HUGE lenses to wear, which never really fit me right since my nose is so tiny. Those lenses pretty much just fell off my face. Luckily, someone gave me some “cool” lenses to wear, which were much smaller and fit snugly around my ears.

At one of the plants, they not only required safety lenses, but also steel toed shoes. When dealing with such heavy machinery, steel toed shoes are a lifesaver. Like the other plants, if you didn’t have your own steel toed shoes, they had some for you. In a big box were these she11-looking things with rubberbands tied to the back. You put the she11 over the top of your shoes and reach the rubberband back around, making your own steel toed shoes. We all felt a little silly walking around, since the fake steel toes made this *clop* *clop* sound wherever we went. We sounded like a herd of Clydesdales walking around the plant!

Of course, I had to take pictures!
