I was working at home yesterday, typing along, when I realized that I smelled something weird. It wasn’t a strong smell, but it was something unpleasant. It actually made me a bit nauseous. I can’t really describe the smell - it wasn’t like B.O. or something decomposing, but there was just something I didn’t like about it.

Of course, I smelled myself, to make sure it wasn’t me - but hey, I just took a shower, it couldn’t be me! And it wasn’t. Then I smelled my blanket, which I usually have draped around me while I work. Wasn’t the blanket. I got up and sniffed around, maybe it was something burning. Nope.

I gave up, but after a while it started driving me crazy. I only caught whiffs of it once in a while, but it was annoying me.

Then I realized what it was. I touched the top of my nose and smelled my finger. AHA!

After my shower I noticed that I had a zit coming up. I couldn’t find my tube of Clean and Clear Persagel (which is my zit zapper of choice). However, while rummaging in the bathroom I found some Clearasil, that wasn’t mine. Since I was in a jam, I decided to use it and put it on my nose. I didn’t notice then that it had a distinct smell that makes me want to gag.

I’m going out today and buying me some new Persagel. I should never have strayed from it in the first place!

Mystery solved!
