Tiramisu Letdown

I would like to say that I’m a tiramisu connoisseur. My many travels give me the chance to check out tiramisu all over the country. There’s been a lot of good, and some bad. Some have looked incredibly appealing, some look like mounds of crap.

I was excited today to try out the dinner special (room service because I’m resting up the back), which was bruschetta, braised pork and tiramisu.

The pork was AWESOME. Incredible. Yummy for my tummy.

I waited to digest before moving to my tiramisu, so I could fully enjoy the experience.

And I lifted up the plate cover, I was surprised. It was a bit small, and looked like it was something that was bought from a store. Well, that’s ok. I’ve had some great store bought tiramisu before.

So I sunk my spoon into it. Hmm, not much rum. Not much of anything except for the ladyfingers part.

I put it into my mouth…

…and…

YUCK!

Worst.

Tiramisu.

Ever.

What a letdown! What a waste. All those minutes of anticipation, for nothing! All I’m left with is a mouthful of a squooshy spongelike sweetness. Eew.

At least I have my sweet tea. My third glass of the day. The only drawback is that I go to the bathroom about 3 times an hour. A small price to pay for that sweet tea goodness!

Oh yeah, sista. I know just what you’re talking about. I’ve been let down by yuck Tirimasu before as well.

Except the one that I experiences was presented to me as a grandios, beautifully structured desert classic, arranged delicately in a long, shapely flute wine glass, topped with cream and chocolate shavings (or some kind of shavings)… I really thought I was in for bliss. Then, the same thing happened to me. I scooped some, put it in my mouth, and *YUCK*. I nearly demanded my money back, but my husband and I were late to another engagement, so I had to just leave it there.

I hope that leaving it sitting there, nearly untouched, was message enough to the restaurant that this dessert was a total bummer…

Anyhow! Thanks for sharing. ;8^)

Aww, poor yano.
Was it as bad as the Tiramisu from the ‘New Place’ here in the lobby of our building? hope not, cuz that stuff was pretty bad, too!
