Batgirl

Batgirl is a great comic.  Cassandra Cain, the 3rd incarnation of Batgirl, was trained to be an assassin.  Instead of learning how to read, write and speak, she learned the language of movement.  She's a brilliant fighter, and has taken on the mantle of Batgirl for redemption.  Damian Scott's pencils really give a great feeling to the action that's taking place.

Elektra

No one kicks ass like Elektra.  She has her own brand of justice, and she, like most other comic book characters, is haunted by the skeletons in her closet.  I would have to say that Elektra has the best covers, done by Greg Horn.

Exiles

In the spirit of the What If? comics of the past, the exiles travel to alternate X-Universes to make right what once went wrong.  Yes, kinda like a 'Quantum Leap' for the Marvel universe.  The team is led by Blink, who was one of the best characters that Marvel killed off.  Luckily, they brought her back here to lead the team.

Fathom

Michael Turner works underwater magic with this comic about a young woman who discovers that she's actually part of an underwater race.  'There's the world we know....and the world below.'  Great art, great writing.  I just wish that the story would  move along a little faster.

Meridian

Young Sephie lives in a world where continents float in the sky.  In true CrossGen fashion, she gets the sigil, opening up special powers.  She travels around her world, trying to overthrow her evil uncle and save her planet.

New X-Men

Grant Morrison turned the X-World upside down when he started writing for the New X-Men.  Professor X is outed as a mutant, the school is reopened to have mutants AND humans, the White Queen joins the team.  This is probably the best X-book out there!

Out There

X-Files meets X-Men.  Four kids find out that they have special powers and must save the world from being taken over.  Humberto Ramos' art is incredible, and a very likeable cast of characters.

Rising Stars

If a phenomenon like the X-Men really happened, what would it be like?  Rising Stars answers that question.  Children born with mutations, called 'The Specials' had grown up in the media spotlight.  What happens when things get out of control and they start warring with each other?  A GREAT story.  But it sucks that the book is never on time.  Settle for the trade paperbacks.

Ruse

I love this book because it's so different from everything else.  Definitely for people that love a Sherlock Holmes type mystery.  I love the 'Moonlighting' sexual tension between the lead characters.

Sojourn

Arwen kicks ass.  That's about all you need to know about this book.  OK, in a true 'Lord of the Rings' type fashion, Arwen, the heroine of the book, is on a quest to save her world from the evil grasp of Mordath.  Arwen kicks ass.

X-treme X-Men

Kinda like an international spin-off of the X-Men.  They're out of Xavier's control, yet still living his dream.  I like the book, but not so much since they killed off Psylocke.  Hmph!

Ultimate Spider-man

Brian Michael Bendis is an awesome writer.  I love his fresh new take on the Spider-man story.  His peter Parker is amazingly believeable as the nerdy guy who finds himself these new, incredible abilities.  A great mix of teenage angst, humor and action.

Ultimate X-Men

I've loving the Ultimate universe and the fresh takes on the characters that we've gotten to know and love.  (Ultimate Spidey pics are coming)  Here, our favorite X-Men are teenagers again, dealing with their new powers, growing up, and the popularity that comes with being an international superhero.

Uncanny X-Men

The tried and true Uncanny X-Men.  They're awesome.

Witchblade

Such a great book that it's got its own show, Witchblade is a great mix of cop drama and mystical object from God-knows-where.  Sara Pezzini is a great heroine (Top Cow is full of 'em!) and Witchblade creates some pretty intricate story lines.  It's a great read!
