I remember way back on '04 when I gushed about a young Democrat named Barack Obama. Turns out, this political superstar just might throw in his hat to become the next president. If he ran, I'd definitely vote for him (though I know he'd have a hard time against McCain). I have a couple issues with his experience, but he has a drive, and maybe that lack of experience in Washington (*cough*corruption*cough*) is actually a positive thing. He has a vision and a charisma that I think we as a country need. I only hope that our country is ready for a leader who is a minority...but if anyone can break that barrier, I think Barack can!
"The decisions that have been made in Washington these past six years, and the problems that have been ignored, have put our country in a precarious place," he said."America’s faced big problems before," he said. "But today, our leaders in Washington seem incapable of working together in a practical, commonsense way. Politics has become so bitter and partisan, so gummed up by money and influence, that we can’t tackle the big problems that demand solutions."

'nuff said...

Posted by: Crispy on January 17, 2007 12:48 PMBut seriously, he just doesn't have any significant experience to be CEO of the USA. If only he had served as a governor....but that alone sure doesn't qualify a person to make sound decisions. Lots's of charisma, but untested any any real fire of leadership. But could you imagine a Clinton/Obama ticket?
Posted by: SusanG on January 18, 2007 04:55 PMI saw Obama at a Kane County Cougars game about 4 years ago. I was about two feet away from him. I snapped some photos. At the time I remember thinking how he had a presidential image about him.
I would be very proud to have Barak Obama as my President.
