I'm heading off to Santa Barbara today. I'm really starting to HATE traveling, more than I usually loathe it. Fortunately, I'm going to be with a fun bunch of folks, so that will make it a little more bearable.
Anyway, I'm going to start researching stuff for my baby registry and adding things to it.
I know you all love giving advice, so let's hear it - what should I buy? What things can I not do without? What things are unnecessary? What brands are the best?
Posted by Yano at December 12, 2005 12:29 AMOnesies--you gotta have a bunch.
In my opinion, pass on those walker deals. I noticed they still sell them and they are dangerous. Lucas tipped his over more than once.
And you have to have a snugly to carry them strapped onto you. I don't know what they call them now but both of my babies spent a lot of time even around the house just strapped onto my front.
Posted by: janet on December 12, 2005 10:55 AMThe best diaper bag money can buy...style, features, you name it. Cause baby it's gonna be with you for a looonnnggggg time!
A Snuggli pack for carrying baby close to your heart. You'd be amazed at how much you can do with a baby on your chest and your hands free...I used to show up in Court for short proceedings when Adam was very small!
Posted by: SusanG on December 12, 2005 11:13 AMI dont have kids but I know from my god daughter that you will deff. need a snuggli or something of the sort..... two other items are a diaper genie and a bottle sterilizer..
Posted by: Shannon on December 12, 2005 01:30 PMI agree with all ladies...buy classical music/CD as well, worked wonders for both of my kids(if all else failed).
Posted by: Valerie on December 12, 2005 01:38 PMdon't get diaper genie. diaper champ is better. but both are a waste of money. they both end up stinking after a while. get lots of burp clothes/receiving blankets.

Posted by: mae on December 13, 2005 12:12 AMA Coach bag!!!
Posted by: Leen on December 13, 2005 03:46 PMGet a good stroller and carseat combo like Combi. The eddie bauer and graco ones are bulky and heavy. Brands like Combi, Maclaren and Peg Perego are the best.
Britax carseat is also good.
Bjorn has a good baby carrier/sling, with good back support.
Avent microwave bottle sterilizer. Saves time.
I agree with Lan, get the diaper champ.
As for diaper bags, I have a coach one, but it's heavy, and for convenience sake, get one that you can put over the handles of the stroller. The coach bag is stylish, but it's a bitch.
Hope that helps.
lol......oh, my list is too long..i'll have to print a list out and send it to you!
