Public Service Announcement

This was sent to me by SusanG. I don't know if it's a hoax or not, but hey, you can't be too cautious about these things, right?

Subject: Message from CA HWY Patrol

Please keep this circulating...

You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car, and get inside. You start the engine and shift into REVERSE, You look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window.

You shift into PARK, unlock your doors, jump out of your car and walk to the rear to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of no where, jump into your car and take off!

Your engine was running and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

Guess what ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car...

BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

Just drive away. Remove the paper that is stuck to your window - later.
Be thankful that you read this email. I hope you will forward this to friends and family... especially to women!

A purse contains all of your identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys!

To lighten the mood a little, here's something from Chariya - good samaritans pay attention - doing a good deed sometimes comes back to you!

this morning as mykel dropped me off at work, there was a car behind us doing the same thing. when i got out, mykel said "hey look at the guy behind us...he left his coffee on the car!" i went up to the car as the passenger (i thought) had just gotten out, and i told the driver he forgot his coffee on top of the car. he looked at me and said "what?" so i told him he forgot his starbucks on top of his car. with a big smile he leaned over, said thank you, and handed me a starbucks gift card! i looked down and noticed that he had a bag full of 'em in the passenger seat.

i turned around and the guy standing at the bus stop (who i thought just got out of the car) held up his gift card for me to see, and we just started laughing. obviously he had just done the exact same thing! lol.

apparently this is some sort of seasonal promotion, because i found out this also happened to gina last week. it can be any kind of car, anyone driving. just keep an eye out for the starbucks glued to the roof! lol.

dammit, why can't I be in Chicago right now?
