I'm SO tired, SO stressed, and SO homesick....
Anyway, just a couple questions I'd like to ask my readership out there, all 5 of you....
- Have any of your read the latest Harry Potter book? I'd love to have a discussion going...
- How many of you have photoshop or some other sort of photo editor? Are there any things you'd like to learn how to do in photoshop?
- Any web tricks you'd like to know?
- Any suggestions for trivia?
- Would any of you care to join a football pool next season?
OK, I think that's all...
I'm going home today! Yay!
Posted by Yano at July 29, 2005 07:38 AMCool photo - maybe you could do magazine stuff for whoever makes your favorite lipstick.
Web tricks? Um, have you seen my blog? It's sad. I need help.
Well, I can only suggest trivia from my areas of expertise: Seinfeld, Simpsons, Lord of the Rings and Star Trek. And maybe video games and cartoons while you're at it...wow, I'm COOL!
Posted by: Sam on July 29, 2005 08:46 AMI was going to mention yesterday....you have an eye for photography (used to do it all through college). Honestly, your pics are great! What about Trivia about you!?
Posted by: Valerie on July 29, 2005 09:11 AMThe Harry Potter book was great! I loved it when the guy in the mask goes around and starts killing the camp counselors. Oh wait, that was Friday The 13th....
Can you go over in photoshop how to make text look like it's glowing or coming out of the page?
Posted by: Mike on July 29, 2005 09:39 AMYou know I am always up for a football pool! There are plenty of online manager things!
Posted by: Jer on July 29, 2005 10:36 AMThat Jer...up there...would be Jerry.....I am not having an identity crisis.....just lazy fingers!
Posted by: Jerry on July 29, 2005 10:39 AMHaven't read it yet. But will. I'm knee deep in other books. I guess I should have known and cleared my schedule. LOL
I don't even own a computer right now.
Trivia ...hmm. I guess maybe I should start doing that sounds fun. As for suggestions. I'm no good at trivia anyways.
Posted by: Master Foley on July 29, 2005 11:07 AMTo answers your questions:
1. I'm waiting for the softcover to come out (I hate reading hardcover books).
2. I have Photoshop.
3. Web tricks. Where do I begin?
4. How about a geography month? *evil grin*
5. Football pool -- no thanks for me but I'm sure you'll get plenty of takers!
So, safe travels and I hope things get a whole lot less stressful for you very soon!
Posted by: noelle on July 29, 2005 11:09 AMI have read the latest Harry Potter book and am re-reading for details I missed the first time around in my haste to find out what happens. It would be wonderful to discuss the book with others who've read it.
I have PhotoShop and Dreamweaver and consider myself a novice with both.
I love the Trivia Game, but can offer no suggestions.
Sorry, don't follow football.
Posted by: annettebanker on July 29, 2005 11:36 AMI haven't read nor seen any of the HP but 6togo has!
Posted by: mare on July 29, 2005 11:46 AMtry Picasa from Google: http://www.picasa.com . it rocks.
get Konfabulator from Yahoo! http://widgets.yahoo.com/
Posted by: wally on July 29, 2005 12:35 PMI've read the HBP twice. Yeah I know, my life sucks. But I'm game for discussion. How about action/extreme sports for trivia?
Posted by: sammyjoe on July 29, 2005 01:10 PMI just started reading Harry Potter. I have Adobe 4.0, Nova Development and Neat Pix for my photo editors and only know the basics, i.e., like tagging. Cartoon trivia would be good. I can't think of any webtricks off the top of my head but I'm sure I don't know them so whatever you want to share I would be happy to learn.
Posted by: Melinda on July 29, 2005 01:14 PMI've read HBP twice now as well and now I'm going back and re-reading the books in order to pick up on the little clues JKR left in them that foreshadow the rest of the books because I'm geeky that way. I guess it comes from being an English Lit major in college.
I don't have Photoshop or any sort of photo manipulation software except MS Paint, which I've only used to crop photos and reduce picture size down to avatar level.
TV trivia would be fun.
And I'll pass on the football pool.
Posted by: xinh on July 29, 2005 04:34 PMI haven't read HP, but I've been reading some other really excellent books lately (Kite Runner, The Curious Incident of the Dog at Night-time, The Secret Life of Bees... these are all VERY good!!).
My picks for trivia would be reality tv, geography, world capitals, current events, world history. hmmmm... besides my love of reality tv, i'm guess I'm kind of a nerd :)
Posted by: PA on July 29, 2005 08:12 PM1. My daughter has first dibs on the new Harry Potter book.
2. I use Paint Shop Pro 8. Pro 9 kept crashing. Ted is on to me to to use the new Microsoft Photo shop thingy. I'm a novice, probably forever, just like my speedskating :~
3. Trivia: History, cultures, current events, Geography *evil grin*
4. Nope. Only a short track pool :)
I too enjoyed "The Secret Life of Bees," ...you'd probably also like "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" and "Divine Secrets of the Yaya Sisterhood." :)
Posted by: SusanG on July 29, 2005 09:35 PMI just finished the HBP this morning. I was thinking of waiting for the paperback version as I did for the other books (except the one I borrowed from my sister in law), but I decided I didn't want to wait this time.
I have Photoshop Elements.
Trivia idea...how 'bout we write a speedskating quiz? We'd at least spell Apolo's name right!
I hope your life becomes less stressful soon so you can enjoy what's left of this glorious summer.
