I've really fallen in love with those peasant skirts that are so popular right now. They're comfortable, I can leap without being restrained, and don't fly up when the wind blows. I've created a couple ensembles that have worked pretty well from my limited supply of skirts. I guess this is a whole new phenomenon for everyone, because people at work were shocked that I was wearing a skirt, and said they don't remember me ever wearing one (I have before, I swear!) So today I thought I had this cute little outfit on - a loose fitting lime green crinkly top with a brown peasant skirt. I was in a hurry this morning so I didn't bother looking in a mirror or anything. Everything had looked find when I passed by my dresser mirror, anyway.
So I was in the bathroom earlier today, and to my horror I realized that I look like a boat. Well, the sail of a boat. I look GIGANTIC! My loose fitting top looks so much better with a pair of jeans or something slim on the bottom. By pairing it up with my peasant skirt, I look like a big circus tent. Or, I should have worn a cute tank top or a tighter fitting top with the skirt. I can't go big and willowy on both or I'm going to look like I'm about to give birth.
If only I had a full length mirror at home!!!
Actually, I do, but we never bothered to take it out of the garage after we moved.
Add another poorly chosen outfit to the resume of the girl who is fashion-handicapped.

Posted by: SusanG on July 14, 2005 03:03 PMPeasant skirts are back? Eeeks! What's next, earth shoes?
Well at least the skirts are getting longer. I haven't worn a skirt since short skirts made their comeback. Then there was that length that hit right at the knee. That is a real horror.

Posted by: chris on July 15, 2005 10:48 AMYou know, I cannot for the life of me figure out why those skirts are suddenly so popular... they flatter NO ONE!
If anyone can pull it off, though, you can!
