Breathe Again

Whew.

These last couple weeks have been a lot for me mentally and emotionally. I think this is probably the closest I've come to a mental breakdown, ever. I think when I'm under a lot of stress I start to overanalyze things, much more than I normally do. Truthfully, I've been quite horrible lately. I've been bitchy, crabby, moody, mean, sensitive, dramatic emotions that are rare for me. Well, except for the dramatic part. Over the last couple weeks I've averaged about 3-5 hours of sleep a night, a couple nights with a mere two nights. I've been running on fumes and a little mantra has been running through my mind - 'It'll be over soon. I *will* be happy again.'

As much as I'd love to say it's over, that I've come to the light at the end of the tunnel, it's not.

But I do have some breathing room. A little time to relax and enjoy myself without having responsibilities looming in the back of my mind. Time to take care of the things that I've been setting aside to take care of 'priorities'.

There's still some work to do, still some catching up, but the pressure is off.

*whew*

So let me catch up on some of the little things that I wanted to blog about, but just didn't have the time....most of it is really silly and stupid, but hey, that's me.

---------------

*Meeeeeeow!*

I was shopping the other day at one of those stores where you have to buy clothes that are 2-3 sizes larger than what you normally wear because it's made for teenage girls who don't mind clothes that hug every curve of their body. What was I doing there? The clothes were cheap, what can I say?

I was going through racks of clothes, and I heard a song play over the speakers - 'Don't Cha', by The Pussycat Dolls. This song is hot - if you've ever seen the video, you'll know what I mean. It makes me feel like purring. The lyrics make me laugh, too:

I know you like me (I know you like me)
I know you do (I know you do)
Thats why whenever I come around
Shes all over you (shes all over you)
I know you want it (I know you want it)
Its easy to see (it's easy to see)
And in the back of your mind
I know you should be fucking me (babe)

It's just a fun, flirty song. I love it. So as it came on, like a big dork, in my head, I thought, 'Man! This is my JAM!!!' Then I thought how big of a nerd I would have been if I said it out loud. Then I hear a girl by me say 'Man, this is my JAM!' I look over and see her start to do a little dance around the store. Oh, to be young again! That's something I would have done if I was with my sisters if I was younger.

Who am I kidding. I would still do that.

I'm Coming Out of My Cage

My favorite song for this summer is 'Mr. Brightside' by the Killers. Actually, I'm diggin' their whole CD. It's some really good stuff.

Mr. Brightside is a great song. I love listening to it as I'm driving around, the windows wide open, blasting through the car. It's one of those songs that you sing out loud, that reminds you of good times hanging with friends.

Of course, when I'm singing the song I kinda glaze over some of the lyrics because I have no idea what they are. But I'll give you the refrain, so you, too, can sing along in your car:

I just can't look its killing me
And taking control
Jealousy, turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it's just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
'Cause I'm Mr Brightside

Meet Cousin Otto

My husband is a dork, but an incredibly loveable dork. Here's a phone call I got from work:

Dave: What time are you coming home from work?
Me: Maybe around 6:30?
Dave: Your cousin Otto is here.
Me: Cousin Otto? I don't have a cousin Otto.
Dave: He's from Canada. Your dad is here too. I guess you've never met him before.

Being Filipino, I have tens of thousands of 'cousins' I've never met before.

Me: From Canada?
Dave: Yeah. He's here, and he'll be here when you come home.
Me: Otto? Are you kidding me?
Dave: No, this isn't a joke.
Me: Seriously, I have a cousin named 'Otto'?
Dave: Seriously! Claudine is here, too, she just met him.
Me: Really?
Dave: Really!!!
Me: You're serious?
Dave: Yeah! Your cousin Otto!

*silence*

Me: Oh, OTTO-MAN! You're talking about the ottoman! The ottoman came in!
Dave: Hee hee! I really had you that time!
Me: You're such a dork.
Dave: *laughs*

We had ordered an ottoman from Marshall Fields about 3 months ago, but they had to special order it because the color we wanted wasn't available, and they said it would be done in a month, but since it was made in China or something, it took til now for it to be done. So now we finally have it, and it's awesome!

Ahh, it's nice to be back.

Is the store you're referring to Forever 21? If it is, I know what you mean. I do like their clothes though.
