Full Moon Over Haleakala - Maui, HI : March 2004

This photo was taken on top of the Haleakala volcano in Maui. It took me a couple tries to get this photo, since it was at night and I really had to minimize the movement of my camera (I didn't have a tripod). The moon was actually quite small, so I'm zoomed in all the way. An hour after this, we saw the most beautiful sunrise on top of the mountain!

That is such a cool picture. Wow, you have real steady hands. My pictures would come out as a blur.

I've seen the sunrise at the top of Haleakala. It is indeed very beautiful and so cold at over 10,000 ft. BTW, do you know that Haleakala is translated as the house of the rising sun?

Not steady hands, Stan - I just took MANY pictures. One of them had to turn out right!

I love Haleakala!! It's one of my favorite memories of vacationing with my parents.
