As some of you may have noticed today, I once again have a different layout. This layout is based on a cover for the comic book 'Kabuki', which I may have mentioned before is one of my favorite comics out there. This awesome piece of art was done by current Daredevil artist Alex Maleev. I love this picture, and by the reaction of my male beta testers, they loved it, too, but I think for different reasons.
Right now, I'm in the process of adding a whole bunch of new, fun things to play with on the site. The trivia, of course, was the first step, and it looks like a lot of you are really enjoying that. Thanks for playing, everyone!
The other thing which I implemented yesterday was the ability to choose your own layout. If you see the link over on the sidebar, the first option you have is to change your layout. You can either choose a layout from the dropdown, or choose the "preview all layouts" option, which will give you screenshots and a description of all the layouts I have available. Here you'll see that I've brought back a couple favorites as well as created a couple new layouts for you to use - for you work people take note of the incredibly boring 'Worksafe' layout.
I know I'm making this whole 'skinning' thing a lot harder than it should be, but having so many pages and areas of the site to cater to, I couldn't just use straight CSS to skin the site. I had to work a little more coding magic than other sites that only have one main page.
I'm really loving this whole skinning thing - I can explore all my creative urges without having to drive you guys crazy by changing the layout every day. But if you like having the layouts change whenever I feel the whim to change, then choose the 'this month's pick' option, which will give you whichever layout I'm highlighting for the moment.
Finally, I'd like to thank my beta testing team for doing an awesome job testing out the layouts for me. They went above and beyond the call of duty, and tTHEY ROCK! So a big thank you to my testing team - Suki, Denise, Noelle, Jamie, Walter, Mike, and Marky. You guys are the best! Click on their names to check out their sites and give them a little lovin' from me. Except for Jamie. For him, you can buy him a drink the next time you see him.
So have some fun with these layouts - there will be more soon, as soon as I'm finished with some other sites I'm working on!
