Yesterday was my first day at work since my vacation.
There's always a mild depression that comes to me when I have to go back to work after having an awesome (incredible!) vacation. (where is my 'What I did on my winter vacation' post you ask? It's coming. Patience, young padawan) You're not working for a week, having fun, laughing, not a care in the world, then you come back to the place of rules and productivity. Bah! When is my next vacation? When am I winning the lottery so I don't have to feel like this anymore?
A bright point yesterday was when my ex-coworker Sam (the original one, not the Aquaman reproduction that sits across from me now) came by the office with his wife Isabella and his little boy Max. Max is so adorable, all grown up and walking with the biggest brown eyes and cutest smile you ever did see! We all just stood there and watched Max watch us. It was great to see Sammy again, who I haven't seen since our little get together in October. I'm so happy for him, since he and Isabella have got another bun in oven. Little Max will have to share the attention!
The weather is FREEZING in Chicago. It's 2 degrees or something - and that's without the windchill. You go outside and your face just gets frozen. I hope it starts warming up soon, there's some good sales going on in downtown, but it's too cold to walk around outside.
Brr!
Posted by Yano at January 18, 2005 09:32 AMit's about 60 here in northern cali. kinda chilly with the bay wind swirling. =)
Posted by: Wally on January 18, 2005 11:33 AMLast week it was 70 here, today it's 20. And was in the teens overnight. Naturally it's a state of panic on the local weather!
It's cold though. I feel like I'm in Canada again. I don't miss the years I spent where it was like this all winter long!
Posted by: noelle on January 18, 2005 12:14 PMAh, nice temperatures in the low 70's here...I think I'm going for a swim.

Posted by: pylorns on January 18, 2005 03:35 PMWe had a lot of rain and wind, and 8 feet of wet snow in the Sierras. It's been sunny and windy in San Francisco today. I can see the sail boats bending over from the Eliptical Crosstrainer at the YMCA. We freeze when it drops into the 40's. Welcome home Yano!
Posted by: SusanG on January 18, 2005 03:52 PMAh, the weather today is even better. Temps are in the 80's! I need to go outside and get a nice tan going. Oh, can't forget the sunscreen!
Posted by: Stan on January 19, 2005 12:51 PMDamn you Cali peeps! Maybe I should move back for the weather...
Posted by: Mike on January 19, 2005 06:16 PMYeah, you know we have the negatives in Cali such as high gas prices, riots, brush fires, earthquakes, flooding, expensive homes, drive bys, but at least we got great weather! Today is going to be in the 80s again. I got a great tan yesterday. I think I'm going to lounge outside and sip some ice tea while catching some rays.
