New Layout

I always get restless with my site design, so here's the latest. This time around, I just wanted someone simple, yet cool. And what is cooler than a chick with a sword? Of course, the art is by Michael Turner and the character is Kiani, the newest heroine in his comic, 'Fathom'. This is from a 3 poster set that they have available right now. In the future I'll probably incorporate the other posters in the layout.

So...what do you all think?

MUCH better! Like Jim Carrrey says, "I like it ALOT" :)

I like it but about a 1/4 of each of your posts I can't read or have a hard time reading because they overlap Kiani and I can't see the type. But it's still cool.

I LOVE it, I think I said that already. It's very elegant and dramatic all the same, even though I haven't got a clue about Kiani. She kicks ass, though.

Mel - right now if you have anything less than 1024x768, you might have problems. It's a design choice I had to make, vs. making the site load slower with a change in opacity....

What do I think? I think you're making me crazy, that's what I think. Stop changing things! I'm a old lady. I can't adjust. *sigh*

Ok, now for my serious comment. It's a bit difficult to read. On my monitor the text looks very um...broken, I guess you could say. But like I said, I'm old and have bad eyesight, so maybe it's just me.

very nice! i like! :)

Interesting, Denise - anyone else having problems with the blog text? Right now it's using 'Palatino' as the font, if you don't have it on your machine, I'll put in some alternate fonts that the system can use.

It looks nice Christine though I have no idea who she is.

How do I check to see if it's the right font?

Posted by: Denise on May 22, 2004 04:36 PM

I'm diggin' it. Like the colors, and on 1024 X 769 it's just perfect.

Okay I changed to 1024x768 but it doesn't help because now I can't read it because everything is too small. It's not fun turning 40 darn it! ;) I guess I'll just stick to looking at the pictures. lol!

it looks GREAT!!!! i like it.

what is the name of the font you've used in your title and section titles? i've seen that everywhere and i have no idea what the name is... i might use that in a redesign i'm itching for, too.

The font is called 'Scriptina'. You can get it here.

This is exactly the sort of stuff my daughter is into Yano :) She even has a sword. Very edgy and cool. But I'm in the same boat with Denise....these old eyes have to strain to read the print. It's showing clearly, but very small. Just cruising around your site is like a trip to the store though....full of interesting stuff :)
