So as I said before, I'm working on a contest submission for Aspen Comics. They provide the line art, which is an AWESOME cover done by Talent Caldwell of Fathom: Dawn of War, and we color it.

I've never colored comic art before, not of this magnitude. I've checked out other people's work in progress, and I'm competing against professionals, their work is really breath taking. I'll post some up when the contest is over. It doesn't really matter though, because I really enjoy doing this, I don't really care if I win. It's so much fun and it's so relaxing. It's almost like meditation. Everything else disappears and all I have is my Photoshop, my mouse, and my palette of colors.

I've done all my 'flat' colors, and I'm working on the background right now. Once that's done, I'm going to do the highlighting and shading to give it more depth. Hopefully my computer can handle the workload. It's already exploded into a 20MB file with all the layers I'm using! I'll keep you up to date with my progress as I go along. I'm switching in between doing this and working on my Maui pics. Don't worry, that's still coming along!
