That's something that my company president always is nagging me about. Which is good, because I'm always making the stupidest mistakes because I'm not dotting my i's and crossing my t's. Today I spent more than an hour on a problem, which in the end, turned up to be on little thing that I missed. I wouldn't have felt as stupid as I did if I hadn't gotten one of our developers involved. Fortunately for me, he couldn't figure out was wrong, either. But when I did eventually see what I missed, I wanted to crawl in a hole and never come out.
But I'll know better next time. I hope!
As for my O'Fallon blues, I've decided just to suck it up, because the drive in this morning wasn't too bad, only about an hour, which is less than half the time it takes me to drive to thousand oaks.
When I told my client of my mishap, he apologized profusely, but we had a good laugh over it. This is a pretty cool place to work, and they're pretty laid back and aren't over my shoulder all the time, but they're friendly enough to stop by every once in a while to say 'hi' and chat. One of the other guys that I had talked to didn't even know there was an O'Fallon, MO til a couple days ago.
Went to the local mall to buy some shorts for Hawaii, but instead ended up buying 3 t-shirts, a beanie and a dress. What can I say, they were on sale!
Posted by Yano at February 17, 2004 08:57 PMAttention to detail is good because you spend less time redoing things, but some people are a bit too stuffy about details, and they're some of the most boring, irritating people I know!
Posted by: Trisha on February 18, 2004 04:24 AMWe are all about the details here and I am not a detail person. I am a bit too laid-back to notice most little things. Or I go on Auto-Pilot and glaze over mistakes..that is bad. In PR, you've got to be on top of details.
Posted by: Lara on February 18, 2004 10:54 AMI'm curious what you're going to do with that beanie in Hawaii? I also think you need to take a pic of yourself in that beanie and add it to the SLC beanie pic and start a Yano beanie collection.*smirk*
Btw, there's somethin' funky goin' on with your blog. I'm missing entire lines of text. Since I hang on every word of your stories,(:P) this is very upsetting indeed. Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just me?
Posted by: Denise on February 18, 2004 11:05 AMIt happens to me too, Denise, until I open the comment box, then I see all the lines of text.
