Maui, Here We Come!

We're thinking of going to Maui for our overdue honeymoon. Does anyone have any suggestions, like things to do, where to go, where to stay, helpful tips, etc? I've never been there before, but we'll be staying there for about a week....

Hello Christine,
I happen to see your homepage from Mike(Cyclone). It's a nice homepage. I used to irc. I remember you. My nick was CooL-J . I visited you once with Roland aka Rol. I think Hawaii is a nice place to visit. I haven't been there, but I like to go.

I stayed at the Four Seasons Maui - I highly recommend it! And make sure you do the Road to Hana drive and go to the top of Haleakala Crater at Sunrise. It's SO worth it.

And eat at Mama's Fish House!

- Get surfing lessons
- would recommend to go with a tour group when you're going to Hana. The roads are narrow, curvy and dangerous.
- Sunrise on top of Haleakala is beautiful, so I heard. 10 mins when the sun was coming up the clouds rolled in. Good thing we didn't pay a tour bus.
- The usual snorkeling and Luau.

I stayed for free with a friend who worked for a time share company but there are a ton of nice places to stay.

Rent a car, there is a lot to see.

Hey Christine,

Jillian and Jane say "HI"
Well, about Hawaii.....
Oh My God..You are gonna love it. Definitely ride down Haleakala at dawn. Eat at Mama's Fish House. Drive to Hana, and take the back road back to the resorts. And on the way to Hana, stop at the Twin Falls Fruit stand. They have awesome banana bread. And check out the Luau at the Outrigger...great stuff.

hawaii.. hmm.. where to start? We only went to Oahu. Just drink a lot of mai tais!! haha.. j/k. I heard Maui is more laid back than Oahu so it's a good choice for a honeymoon. horseback riding by the shore?

Hi Christine...

I went to Maui last April. Definitely check out the whale watching, snorkeling and try your hand at surfing too! SO much fun! I stayed at the Wailea Marriott (aka Outrigger). Beautiful! You have your choice beach on either side of the resort (Wailea and Ulua Beach). Their luau is one of the best on the island. Also, after you check out the fruit stand by Twin Falls (like Maui suggested), you can hike about a mile or so and swim under a secluded waterfall!

Whatever you decide to do, you'll have an awesome time!

(Btw, I'm Ced's girl, north of the border. Heard a lot about you... good things, of course! =) Hope to finally meet ya one day!)

You guys need to stay here:

I stayed there with Alvy and Ilynne and the rest of the Fertility Center crew back in '97. If not, try to find a hotel on this side of the island. The weather is much better on that side (the wind isn't as bad and not as rainy), and less tourists.

Maui is definitely nice... We went awhile back and stayed at this hotel on the beach? You open the back balcony door of your room and there is the beach a few feet away... plus it's pretty private... ^_~ I'll have to see if I can find the name of it... Do you know when you're going yet?
