I Feel the Earth Move

Guess what? I had my first California earthquake today! It wasn't really what I expected it to be, but then again, it was on a 3.7 on the Richter scale. I was in my client's office, when all of the suddent I felt the room kind of shake and sway a bit, kind of like what happens when you're in your car and a big truck passes by. I though someone had dropped something outside or something, but my client came in and said, 'Did you feel that? It must have been an earthquake!' And later on, we found out it was. Pretty cool. A big event in my life.

Here's more pics from Marquette, and I apologize if all of you non-short track blog readers are getting sick of it. Tomorrow I promise I'll post pics of my dirty ass car, because believe me, it's dirty.

Your pics are wonderful, my dear. And congrats on your first earthquake! I'm jealous.

Christine, I love your pictures! I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to chat more in the stands or the media room, though!

It's kind of funny: In your picture of the media listening to Apolo at the press conference, most of the media are fan-based. Looks like we took over that room! ;)

welcome to california! the earthquakes are normal... the fires, not so normal. :)

the pictures are very cool! odd that it makes me miss socal. i was an avid hockey player when i was down there... up in the bay area the streets aren't rollerblade friendly. anyway, it looks like you had lots of fun!

Your first earthquake? You have officially been properly initiated!

I remember my first earthquake. I was walking down the streets of Nagoya, Japan, when the earth literally "moved under my feet." That was weird. I hadn't been drinking, not that I remember anyway.

Very very nice shots, Yano. I really love the pic of us media listening intently, and the shot of you and Noelle.

Thanks for these photo treats, Yano. You and your subjects all look fabulous. The shots really gave a feel of what it was like. And that close-up of Apolo - intense!
