Mommy Update

Well, my mom is still in the hospital, but she's stable now and my dad is with her. I cracked a bit today when Dave got home. I'm amazingly homesick, and I wish I could be home to make my family laugh, which is what I do in moments like this. But she's doing much better, and I'm thankful for that.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words and prayers.

Another (minor, yet without today's other events it would have been major) disappointing thing I found out today was that I won't be able to attend the World Cup in Marquette in October. I thought I could manage a free flight out there, but in true Christine style, I waited too long and my return date is unavailable. The next flight I can take home is two days later than I wanted, and I can't take off work that long. I could pay for a ticket, but it costs too much. I'm really sad about it, because I was really looking forward to going there and meeting up with old friends and watching some good skating. Then again, my mother's condition puts it all in perspective. But I'm still bummed!

Hey Tin tin......:)
I just found out about your mom tonight. I'm so happy she is doing better. I'm gonna try to get to the hospital sometime today, but with work an all, it's kinda tough. I'll try to talk to your dad and find out more info. I'll let you know if I find anything new. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your familia.

She's okay, that's great news. Do not think that you being in another time zone doesn't mean that she doesn't know how much you love her.

We're going to keep sending you and your family positive thoughts.

I just got a chance to look at your blog myself. You know you and your family are always in my prayers, and had I know about this earlier, I certainly would have said something. I know it isn't really a happy day, but isn't it your one month anniversary, also? I hope that part of the day was nice, at least. If you need anything, don't ever hesitate to ask.

Love ya, buttercup.

Hi Christine, glad your mom's doing better. I hope she'll be well enough to go home soon. We're all thinking about you!

And I'm just gonna call up the ISU right now and tell them to cancel Marquette. No one could stand to skate without you there! Still hoping a miracle happens...

Bummer about the Marquette trip, but, now you have the free ticket to fly home for a long weekend if you want to.

I'm glad your mom is doing better. We'll be thinking about you.

Christine, I'm sorry to hear your mom is in the hospital - I'll send some positive thoughts & prayers her way. Also I understand the homesickness thing too... I had it bad when I was first living away from home. You'll get through it but it is tough.

I'm so glad your Mom is doing better. I will continue to keep her in my prayers. HUGS!!! And don't worry about Marquette, I can't go either so I will expect to see you on the cyber score board and chat!;) Hang in there tomorrow is another day and I'm sure it will be better than this one.
