Wow.
I woke up this morning to check the news and found out that both John Ritter and Johnny Cash died.
John Ritter died yesterday while filming his TV Show '8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter' of an undetected heart problem. It was pretty sudden, so it was a surprise to everyone. He was only 54 years old. I had loved him as a child in Three's Company (and in Three's a Crowd), and was so happy to see him back on television.
Johnny Cash died earlier this morning from complications from diabetes. He was a country star best known for hits like "I Walk the Line" and "A Boy Named Sue". I may not be a big fan of country, but like John Ritter, I've known Johnny Cash all my life, and he truly is a musical legend.
What a sad, sad way to start out the day!
Posted by Yano at September 12, 2003 08:21 AMI know! I don't really know Johnny Cash - I just remember going on vacation to Jamaica in 8th grade and someone pointed out his house there to us. I'd heard of him, so I took a picture. Another legend passes.
John Ritter, though - that's like an old friend dying! I nearly drove off the road in shock when I heard that on NPR this morning. So sad. :(
Posted by: Noelle on September 12, 2003 09:27 AMsuch a shocker. i think about it and still, at least death didn't come in prolonged insurmountable pain. sad for the families + loved ones they left behind.
