#41 - The Legend of How Fatima Got Her Name

So I was asked how Fatima got her name in the chat. She was supposed to me named 'Charlene'. Get it? Christine, Claudine and Charlene? The amazing triplets born 5 years apart. That's what we would have been.

But then something happened. I was a difficult birth for my mom, so she had a C-Section with me. Fatima, too was a difficult birth.

Now all of this is just from bits and pieces we've heard, so it's more like a legend. But when my mom was in delivery with Fata, she flatlined. For a few moments, my mother was dead. However, in that time, my mom had a vision. She saw a woman, shining in the dark, telling her that she wasn't ready yet, and that she had to go back. You're typical 'Light in the Tunnel' near death experience. The woman had on a white veil and a crown, and my mother knew immediately that it was Our Lady of Fatima that had spoken to her. She had seen her statue enough to know what she wore. So this woman brought my mom back to the living.

And so, in a show of gratitude, my mother named her child Fatima. Which is a MUCH cooler name than Charlene! (sorry to the Charlenes out there!)

Wow, so it has become legend in more than one state! It's almost reaching urban legend status!
