One of the best 80's cartoons ever was Jem. It was about this woman named Jerrica Benton, whose father left her a recording company as well as a top secret hologram machine. With this, she became the singer Jem, who everyone loved. Her sister had the 'Marsha! Marsha! Marsha!' syndrome, and was always jealous of her sister's popularity. The group also had Aja, the blue haired Asian wonder, and Shana, the purple haired black beauty. They were later joined by the salmon pink haired Mexican sensation, Raya.
Rio, the plum haired hearthrob, was torn between Jerrica and Jem, being unaware that both of the women that he loved were actually one and the same. Oh the drama!
And throw in the Misfits, the bad girls that became Jem and the Hologram's rivals, and you get a great pre-teen soap opera. Especially knowing that Stormer, one of the Misfits, was actually a goodgirl deep down inside!!!
God, what a great show.
