This interesting article was sent over all the way from Hawaii by Deb.
Hawai'i teens top prospects in U.S. luging
It's basically about these kids from Hawaii, who got 'discovered' and are now going to be part of the national development program for the luge. Yes, the Olympic winter sport. Some of these kids had never even seen snow before! There are 12 spots in the program, and 3 kids from Hawaii made it. 'Cool Runnings', anyone? How do you see that someone has a natural talent for the luge? There's only two places that have a luge track - SLC and Lake Placid, NY. It's way beyond me, but these is a great story.
I mean, how cool would it be to see these Hawaiian kids make the 2010 team? I'll definitely be cheering them on! So you heard these names here first - David Chang, Rachel Kwak and Trevor Wold. They're going to be big stuff someday!
Thanks for the article Deb! I know you're proud!
