I'm back home in Chicago now.

I was talking with my dad yesterday, and the first thing he said to me was, 'You know what? You have to go out and see the Lion King. It was fantastic!'

I wanted to say, 'You dirty bastard, rub it in why don't ya!'

But I didn't. Because I've never heard my father use the word 'Fantastic' before. He went on to describe how he had never seen lighting used like they used it in the Lion King. And how impressive the singing and the costuming was. He was gushing! 'It was 10 times better than Phantom of the Opera!' Well, to tell the truth, the only thing my dad really had to compare it with WAS Phantom of the Opera. Unless you count the David Copperfield magic show, and 10 years of the Ice Capades. But he loved it. And the rest of the family loved it.

I think I'm not as upset about watching the Lion King as I am about not being there to share it with my family. I love shows, and I wanted to share my love of them with my family. It's been 4 days since they watched the show - how I would have loved to listen to my dad's reaction right after watching the show, if this is what it's like days later.

But oh well. I told my dad I'm just going to get a ticket for myself. He said, 'No! I'll see it again! You don't have to go alone!' I think he's doing more for his benefit than mine! *wink*

On other news, my DSL is fucked up. I have no idea what is going on, and I can't bear doing dial up.

And my bridal shower is today. I think the girls have some tricks up their sleeves, but I can't figure out what. Should be fun, though!
