Buddy Ebsen, better known as Jed Clampett from the Beverly Hillbillies, died yesterday. Goodbye Jed. Goodbye Barnaby Jones. Goodbye man who would have played the Tin Man if it hadn't been for an allergic reaction to the silver paint. You'll be missed.
Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.
Well the first thing you know ol Jed's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said "Jed move away from there"
Said "Californy is the place you ought to be"
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.
Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars.
Well now its time to say goodbye to Jed and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in.
You're all invited back a gain to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality
Hillybilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off.
Y'all come back now, y'hear?.
Superstitious folk such as I always believe these things come in threes...who's next?
Posted by Yano at July 7, 2003 02:23 PMyeah... Barry White, Buddy Ebsen... who is next? not like i'm wanting there to be a number 3... but so far, it's come true.

Posted by: Kathy on July 7, 2003 10:41 PMWow I'm glad I'm not the only weird person who counts deaths. I thought it was Katharine Hepburn, Buddy Hackett, and Buddy Ebsen? They're all so wonderful, it's been a sad two months.
