The Sweatshop

Well, it's been a REALLY busy last two days. Yesterday, some of the bridesmaids came over for the Yano Invitation Sweatshop, er, Workshop. We had some pizza, watched movies and put together the invites for the bridal shower as well as the wedding invites. It was a lot of work, but we got through it with a lot of laughs. It was really good, because it made this whole wedding thing fun again. The selection of movies, however, gave me a little cause for concern - Runaway Bride and Serendipity. Two movies in which the bride doesn't marry the person she initially intended to marry. A hint, maybe? Dunno, but I think I'll stick with Dave. He's pretty swell. I love those girls for coming by and working so hard for me yesterday. They are the most beautiful, funnest, kindest girls around.

As for today, I mailed out the invites, became best friends with the lady at the post office (a smile takes you a long way) and then the in-laws came over. We all get along pretty well, but as you all know, the invite list is the cause of much stress to me. I think that having both sides of the family there without out Dave was pretty tough for me. I realized today that most of my stress comes from when people are either pushing me too hard, or when they're taking my control away. And yes, there was maybe a moment or two where I felt like sticking my calligraphy pen in my eye socket. Me and Fatima were up until 5 in the morning getting everything together, and I admit, I was a little on edge. I was ready to stick up the white flag and say, 'Y'all can do whatever you want to do. Just tell me what time to get there and make sure you spell my name right on the program.' I know they have good intentions, but still. Argh!!!!!

So if anyone asks you, this wedding is MINE. ALL MINE.

Oh, and Dave's too. But just a little. *wink*
