Worlds Colliding in LA!

I'm really tired, but I just wanted to post a quick one. Maybe not so quick.

Anyway, Dave's on call tonight, so he couldn't hang out. So Melinda had said that she'd drive down to LA from San Diego to meet up with me. So I invited Rod, too. My two short track connections. Then I thought that I'd invite some friends I've made from my other message board that I go to. And luckily, Sarah, Soo and Raven were able to make it. And I realized that one of my comic book message board friends, Sam, just relocated to LA, too. So I invited him, too.

So all these aspects of my internet life, hovered around a table for 4, sticking pieces of raw beef into boiling water at a sushi restaurant (shabu shabu). It was kinda weird in a way. Outside of Rod and Melinda, I'd never met these people before. It was kinda cool, meeting all of them for the first time. It was nice to have all these people from different aspects of my life in one place. All in all, it was a great time. It's good to know that when I move to LA, I'll know a lot of people here already.

Afterwards, I got a tour of the studios of Aspen MLT, Michael Turner's company that he created after he parted with Top Cow Comics. Got to hang out and chill for a bit, and it was cool to see Talent working on some art, talking tech support with Peter, and hearing all of Sam's stories. Sam was really great to give me the royal treatment. I even got to escape with some contraband. They'll be none the wiser! *wink* I can't wait until the Chicago Con!

Definitely a strange night, but really funny in a way!

Who the heck is Michael Turner and Top Cow?

Meanwhile, I'm sure those folks are like, 'who TF is Rusty Smith? Ain't never heard of no Anton Ono dude.'

Ummm...I'm pretty sure the people in that second pic are not Raven and Soo. The lovely lady in blue looks suspiciously like Melinda, and that guy on the right looks just like that guy Rod that we all used to talk to. ;)

Yah.....what everyone else said. But I thought that was Brad Pitt, not Rod. :) And hey, is that Raven guy taken?

Hey Christine!

Great pics! Although I'm not sure about that one with the chick in the light blue sleeveless sweater. She seems a bit "shady" to me. heeheehee! Seriously, I had a BLAST that night. It was great to meet everyone and see what really makes Yano "tick." It's also nice to know that you don't stalk all the time. :P Hi Sarah! Anyway, I got home around 12:30 so it wasn't too bad. Easy drive. AND I didn't get lost. Can't wait til you're out here for good. Talk soon.

Meeting internet friends is fun. I had the pleasure of meeting Denise B a few weeks ago. I had a horse show in her neck of the woods and she came. You meet and you just pick up where you left off on the internet! Weird but fun! :) Glad you all got to meet. Hopefully I will meet you someday. :)
