Dave said I'd give up after doing 10, but I'm up to about 125 invitations that I've written out. I have about 80 or so left. My whole family and everyone else still thinks I'm crazy for writing them all out, but I've got some good workers helping me out (Fata and Claud) by writing out addresses in pencil first, so it lessens the percentage of error. I think my family is pretty impressed, with each invite that I make, my script is getting better and better. I really like using the dipping-pen-in-ink method, because I get consistent and dark ink each time. Maybe when I get home I'll give y'all a sample.
I am actually having a really good time doing this. It calms me and destresses me from all of the crazy wedding stuff that's going on.
Next step - doing the INSIDE envelopes. *wink*
Posted by Yano at June 16, 2003 10:59 AMooooh! are you doing them like martha stewart wedding style? I just saw the current issue and loved the hand inked calligraphy as well. Please post pics ~ I would love to see!
Posted by: Sarah on June 16, 2003 11:55 AMWow! You've made a big dent in the invites. I think it's fun doing stuff like that. My brother got married when I was 18 and I addressed all their invites. Then again, they had a much smaller wedding than you (tiny families on both sides) so I probably only had 100 or so to address.
Posted by: Noelle on June 16, 2003 12:03 PMOh Good Lord... there's more to do?
Posted by: Claudine on June 16, 2003 12:11 PMOMG the inside flaps were the hardest for me. "Now dad, is that his last name or first name? what do you mean he doesn't have a first name?"
Headache headache. A great reason why not to get a divorce: not having to write out invitations for another wedding.
