Give Blood, Get Cookies

I swear, the oreos at the blood donation place are laced with something, because they taste REALLY good. Anyway, here's my preaching for the day - give blood. There's a massive blood shortage. Of the people who are eligible to give blood, only 5% do. It's a lot of fun to watch and feel your own blood drain from outside your body. Today, I had an awesome bloodsucker lady (what do you call these people?) and when she took out the needle, I didn't feel it at all. Seriously, it hurt more when my finger was pricked for the iron test!

To my special lurker reader and pole dancing buddy - Sometimes husbands are just JERKS. Not that I have one. But remember, I give free hugs. And I got yo' back! I'm DOWN!

Good quote of the day: "Yeah, she was on drugs. She was in a lot of pain, and they gave her stuff to take the pain away, you know like codeine and stuff like that. What is that stuff called? Oh yeah. Laxatives." <-- Bryan. It was even funnier when he realized that no, laxatives are in no way related to codeine. Still can't think of what he was trying to say, though!

Work was a little sad today. We're all still reeling a bit from the loss of our friends and colleagues. It's also BUSY as hell at work since we've got to make up for the people that are gone. Sucks ass. Earl, we're thinking about ya, buddy.

The "bloodsuckers" are called phlebotomists.

As for Bryan... analgesics? narcotics? sedatives?

i know wut u mean about the prick for the iron test...that's the part i dread most...it hurts like 10 times more than the hole they make to drain ur blood >

Thanks Christine! I maybe soon I'll try to see if I'm full of enough iron to give blood.
