Looked at Noelle's blog the other day, and it was an 'Apolo' anniversary for her. Yesterday was sort of an Apolo anniversary for me, too - the first time I 'met' him. I went back in my archives and found this, which, after reading it and reflecting on where I am now, is pretty hilarious:

I can't believe that I couldn't even say two words to the guy. Last month, I was in Bay City touching his arm and interviewing him about what his plans were for the Worlds, with hardly even a stutter. I guess I was basically in shock the first time I met Apolo, and it didn't help me that he was shy, too. Way different from the first time I met Rusty (at the Worlds in Milwaukee), where we talked like it wasn't the first time we met each other. But even with the two different personalities, they're two great guys. And I'm definitely looking forward to the next time I meet Apolo again.
Oh, memories!!!

Doesn't it give you whiplash, comparing those two experiences? Yesterday I was remembering your Oakbrook experience and how you couldn't even look at Apolo. Ten months later you were interviewing him!

It's hard to believe all the changes that have come about in just one year. When I think about it, I just have to shake my head in disbelief.
I have to wait until next February before my 1st "Apolo anniversary" comes around. Yeah, it took me a whole year to *finally* meet Apolo.
