It's dark and gloomy outside. What a crappy Monday!
My mom didn't come home from from the hospital yesterday. She's still there. We stopped by the hospital before going to our family Easter party. She's in good spirits, still, but you can see that she wants to get out of there. Our dog Ewok is really starting to miss her. He sits by her bedroom door and waits, sometimes getting up and barking at it. My dad has been with her day in and day out. He's got a pretty nice scam going on with the parking. It's $3.50 for visitors to park, and $1.50 for patients. So my dad goes to the main desk and says that he has an appointment with one of the doctors there, and they validate his parking. Anything to save a buck.
Yesterday's family party was pretty fun. I was misinformed in thinking that it was at Marlon's place. It was actually at my cousin Marian's. (and Michael and Marilyn's). It was good for all the cousins to get together again. Saw Marlon for the first time since he came from the Brazil. He lost a LOT of weight, but is still fun to hug. We played a couple rounds of Boggle (and although Fata didn't want to play at first, once she did, she started kicking our asses). There was a lot of good food - many compliments on the lasagna that I constructed. And pie! French silk pie! Yum! I brought over my DVD's of 'Spirited Away' and 'Drumline'. They all thought that Spirited Away was too trippy for them, but that's why I liked it. There were a good amount of band jokes made during 'Drumline', but I KNOW that deep down, they enjoyed it. It was nice to watch the whole movie WITH SOUND. And hot DAMN! That ending sequence was HOT. That percussion battle was awesome. Badass! Makes me wanna continue my drumming lessons with Ced. And then I can start up with my band again - Low Fidelity. *chuckle*
