You Do the Math!

I'm so horrible. I've been neglecting my wedding blog. My big project on the plane to LA is to update that damn page. I hope I still remember my password for Blogger!

Met with a florist today. I think the wedding is starting to stress me out. I keep on saying 'I don't care about flowers, I don't care about flowers...' but they're almost a necessity. So here's the numbers, and I'll give you average prices for each - just to give you an estimate of how much this is costing me, because I don't know if I've said this, but I'm paying for a bulk (more than a bulk) of my wedding. *sigh* I'm so poor!!!!

bridal bouquet1 x $140
bridesmaids bouquets8 x $65
flowergirl bouquet and flower crown1 x $60
corsages for mothers/sponsors/grandmother11 x $25
boutonnières for groomsmen/fathers/sponsors20 x $5
arrangements for church2 x $200
throwaway bouquet1 x $40
aisle runner1 x $35
flowers for the cake1 x $30
centerpieces for the head table2 x $50

If you're too lazy to do the math, well, it's a little under $2000. *sigh* Well, luckily, I got a pretty good deal, but it's still a chunk of change. Donations, anyone?

Gotta get a lot of stuff done over the next couple weeks, but I'll be traveling a lot, too.

So here's my schedule for the next couple months:
Next week: Thousand Oaks, CA
Beginning of May: Seattle, WA
Mid May: Champaign-Urbana, IL
End of May: Des Moines, IA/Miami, FL/Some island off the coast of Georgia

I'm just rackin' up those frequent flier miles. Anyone know anything fun to do in Seattle? *wink*

I'm in desperate need of a haircut...

hey don't let your wedding preps stress you out!! It's meant to be fuuuun! Wow i didn't realise bouquets cost so much...but they'll look beautiful on the day, so it'll be worth it :D

if flowers are really stressing you out, you can always opt for a 'western' wedding. . .

y'know, tumble weeds and the whole bit, a bit of cactus (cacti?) here and there. i'm sure that they'll be less expensive.

maybe you should make a stopover in arizona!! heheh. . .

but seriously though, don't worry too much about it. i'm sure that it'll be all good, and that things'll work themselves out in time. =)

either that, or you have one of two options: 1) elope; or 2) win the lottery. =P

wow Yano those are some pricey buds! But it's good that it's a good deal, I'm sure they'd be more expensive at other places. Forget about the wedding while you're traveling, those look like some nice places to be! Especially Seattle...hmmm..haircut you say? I wonder what salon you'll go to...heh *wink*

Holy $hit... wow, that's a lot of money.

Well, at Lissa's wedding the bridesmaids' bouquets were used as centerpieces for the head table... they just put them in short vases... it looked pretty.

Check with the church if they provide an aisle runner - when I was an altar server at St Thecla we provided the white aisle runner...

and i think at maui's wedding the floral decorations with the candles and such were used as centerpieces at the tables at the reception...

i'm so jealous you're going to Seattle. make sure you head onto the Space Needle. it's cool from up there. and i would help you on the restaurant thing, but i didn't hang out so much in Seattle when i was there for a wedding a couple years ago. but there's a HUGE Japanese population there and Tom says that sushi is divine!

2g's for dying bio matter? holy macaroni...

you'll be looking at the pictures years later and reciting the prices like the names of your children. ;p

Seattle schmeattle.

Are you going to my favorite place in the world (well, one of them, anyway) - St Simons Island, Georgia??? Girl, I'm jealous. I had to miss my usual Feb. trip down there because... well, you know why I missed it, you were the same place I was in Feb!

oh my, I know how you are feeling. My no flower wedding now has flowers for the Men's boutonnières and mothers corsages. But that's it. no more than $200. I hate spending that much money on something that will wilt and die a few days later.
