The Need for Speed

I don't know why, but lately I've been driving really fast. And I drive even faster when someone passes me. This little voice in my head says 'What, am I not going FAST enough for you?' and I speed up and pass them. I need to stop this habit! It could get pretty dangerous. But going fast feels so good! It's almost like a drug...

We rented 'The Rookie' today, and it was a great movie. I definitely recommend it. And it was great to watch it with Dave, because he used to be really good at pitching when he was young. I know there's a little part of him that wonders what would have happened if he stuck with it. What's great about this also is that it's a true story! Deep down inside, Dave's thinking 'Yeah...I can do that!' Sure, Dave, just as long as it's AFTER the wedding!

"And I drive even faster when someone passes me."

Go to your happy place, Yano. Breathe...

Yep, a maneuver very reminiscent of that garnered me a $135 ticket and two points on my license last summer. And the cop wasn't even willing to discuss a sexual favor as a trade. Hmmpphh. What is the law coming to?

i really liked 'The Rookie', too! good movie indeed.

sometimes i think i pay too much attention as to how fast i'm going when i'm driving. i should really be keeping my eyes on the road rather than the speedometer all the time. hehe.

i drive with the rear-view mirror...i dunno why...i've just got the habit of seeing where i've been instead of where i'm going...

I felt that way once. "Just drive fast!" the little voice told me on my quick-trip-to-Circuit-City. The quick trip cost me a good fender bender when I rear ended a car that the insurance company found me at fault for. But, that didn't stop me... got a speed warning in Texas and I was only on the road for 5 minutes before I speeding and got pulled over. But, a month later that didn't stop me... speed trap on Gary Av. in Bloomingdale.. ticket/court supervision. I've been a lot more conscious about my speed lately. ;)

oh, i know! i know! yesterday i was speeding along 290 and luckily i saw the break lights of the cars before me, the telltale sign of a trooper ahead.

i know i shouldn't, but it's so NICE to go fast! especially when you've got some good music playing and there's not much traffic...

ahhh christine. getting a little more ballsey with your driving, huh? i remember way back in the day when i did all the driving cuz you were afraid to drive. hehehe... and now look at you. all grown up and becoming the new speed racer. hehe ;)

take your car to the track sometime and buy a good helmet... let all the racing drive out there. :P

i've a few race stories though... fastest i ever went was 110 on the 405 at 3am racing this girl in a new vw bug. i was cruising back home at 80, she lined up, gave me the wink and nod (or so i thought) and sped up.

there's a difference in just driving fast and driving recklessly though... one requires very normal usage of the brake and the other requires an insane amount (coupled with high g-force swerving)..
