The Non-Holiday Commute

Drove in to work today again. Funny how travel times are different on a non-holiday. Yesterday, on MLK day, it took me 17 minutes to drive in to work. I was going an average of 70mph the whole time. Today, on a normal-ish rush hour day, it took me 50 minutes to get in. I was going an average of 5mph the whole time. Ech! I think on average, it takes me about 40 minutes to drive in. Today was pretty bad because the sun was so bright, and it's dirty car time in Chicago, which means that everyone's windshields are dirty from the salt.

CD for the Drive to Work: Norah Jones - Come Away with Me: I love this gal. I've loved her for a long time. She just has the sweetest voice. If this girl doesn't win a Grammy, there's something wrong with the world.

wow, traffic exists elsewhere... i thought it was just a california thing. :P

sometimes when i'm back in LA, i'm tempted to buy a dummy to sit in my passenger seat so i can drive in the carpool lane...
