Good Times at Church

Today was fun at church. Yes. Fun. Never thought I would use 'church' and 'fun' in the same sentence, but it was. We had a guest choir come in, and they were pretty diverse, and they sounded AWESOME. My church, let me tell you, is about 95% white. So I know that the parishoners were given a treat that they rarely see. And this choir had some great singers, and they really livened up the mass. When I went up for communion, I could see on the faces of some of the people in the choir that they were happy to see some color in my parish. Everyone had a good time. I haven't heard so much clapping in my church since I graduated from 8th grade.

Yesterday, I had a very much needed night out. We went out for Deo's birthday to Minx, and it was fun. I can't believe that I've know him for almost 7 years. It seems like yesterday when I met him and the rest of my FAR boys. And for an extra treat, I saw some faces that I hadn't seen in a LONG time, Jay and Jerry. Dave was really excited to see Jay, because they haven't seen each other in years. I was really excited to see Jerry, because he was one of my first friends in college. So it was a good time. Had a couple drinks, had a couple shots, and had lots of laughs. Good times!

hey...i was also at the 11:00 mass and the choir was great. I just loved looking at everyones faces when the choir started singing. People at St Thecla are so used to the traditional singing of church hymns. It was a nice change for once. Did you also checkout the sermon given by Father whats his name (i am so bad...i totally forgot his name)..he was so excited in what he telling us...I hope that he can do that every Sunday so that I wont fall asleep :P

Father Ken is his name, Rick! Even I know that, and I NEVER pay attention at church!

I was joking to Fatima that we should have an ambulance outside in case anyone had a heart attack from too much excitement. I tried to start some swaying, too, but it just didn't catch on.
